The TurboGrafx 16 released in the late 1980s and provided competition for the NES and Sega Genesis. With its 8-Bit processor and 16-Bit graphics chip, the TurboGrafx 16 failed to capture the market its more popular competitors enjoyed, but it did manage to endure in the hearts and minds of collectors to this day.

Say Hello To: Sega Master System

 

In a move to counter Nintendo and their 8-Bit NES, Sega released their technically superior Master System to provide competition. Although the Master System lacked the marketing and third-party support its Nintendo rival enjoyed, Sega still managed to establish a presence in the North American market which led to the release and success of the 16-Bit Genesis.
